Learning To Ride VII - 125cc Road Rider

I’ve been neglecting to write about my learning to ride saga recently so I thought I would give you an update.

2 Sunday’s ago I did my Road Rider (Moose: Michael wasn’t around so Devon was teaching me instead ;) ). It didn’t go too bad, hadn’t forgotten too much about the CBT and we started to build on things like better lane discipline, rather than the CBT “Stick to the middle of the road!” theory, angled hill starts, etc.

I did have the unfortunate experience of watching the guy riding in front put his bike down though. While we where learning better corner lines around some country lanes, he just verged slightly too far to the left, touched the side road marking, his front wheel skidded to the right then just slipped under.

The guy was fine, just a little perplexed by the whole thing. Not really what you want to see when you’ve only spend a few hours on a bike and it’s starting to rain :)

Overall an enjoyable experience, it was good to get some time out on a bike.
