Learning To Ride II - Study

Well as I said in my last post, I have decided to learn to ride a motorbike through the DAS programme.

Since I have no experience of bike what so ever I decided I should probably try to learn a thing or two before jumping straight in.

So off to Waterstones I went.

In the end I bought 2 books:

Learn To Ride

Learn To Ride - Haynes

Overall a pretty good book, covers everything you need to know (”Just like it says on the tin”™). Each section covers a different area such as Junctions, Roundabouts, Motorways, Basic Motorcycle Maintenance, CBT. It even lists all the DVLA theory test questions at the back so you can practice. If you want to learn to ride and need somewhere to start I would definitely recommend it. *****

The Highway Code

The Highway Code

Well what can I say about this…..it’s the highway code, not exactly a riveting read. Though on occasion it did yield some interesting nougats of information, such as; it’s not illegal to park your car on the pavement or to reverse round a corner into a main road. I had always thought that they were, apparently they are just “Advised Against”. Anyway, if you want to learn to ride your gonna have to read this.***
